European and UK markets were helped by further sharp falls in natural gas prices, down by close to half
in October, taking the falls since the peak in August to over 70%, as the EU successfully refilled its gas
storage facilities ahead of winter and mild weather reduced consumption. The worst fears of shortages and
astronomically high prices have been abated
